I have avoided the news coverage today as just glimpses of footage of what happened ten years ago has had me crying this week. It is bizarre that 10 years has passed since that horrible day in New York.
It is going to be one of those days that everyone who is old enough will remember where they were when they heard the news.
I started working for my current company on 11th September 2000, so in 2001 I was talking to Noel in work about how the last year of work had been, part way through our conversation one of the partners, Crawford, came running through the office shouting something incoherent in his wake, I remember we all chuckled at Crawf having one of his funny days as he was known for being daft and having a joke and no one really understand what he was talking about so we kept working.
A minute later he was back in the office with an ancient radio and tuned it into a station and we all stood around a filing cabinet in silence just listening.
I remember just feeling sick as Crawford who is so jolly was white as his son worked at WTC and one of our friends was visiting his girlfriend in philly and they were due to go there for a visit and we weren't sure what day.
We were lucky as they were all fine but there were just under 3000 deaths from teh four flights, the WTC and the pentagon. It was an extremely shocking and upsetting time and all those people that lost their lives will never be forgotten.
